Supporting Adults to Heal, Grow and Thrive
Registered Psychologist
Laurena Moore
With over 32 years of professional experience, I provide evidence-based therapy and counselling for adults seeking support with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, betrayal trauma, relationship challenges, workplace issues, and major life transitions. My focus is on helping you build emotional resilience, restore balance, and reconnect with a sense of purpose and well-being.
I am a Registered Psychologist (AHPRA), a Full Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a Board Approved Supervisor and EMDRAA Accredited Practitioner offering a compassionate, confidential, and collaborative space for personal growth and healing.
My Therapeutic Approach
Every individual’s story is unique — and so is their path to recovery.
I take an integrated, evidence-based approach, tailoring each treatment plan to your specific needs, goals, and circumstances.
My work draws on a combination of therapeutic modalities, including…
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – to identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) – for processing and healing trauma.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – to build psychological flexibility and self-compassion.
Solution-Focused Therapy – to promote strength-based, forward-focused change.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – for improving emotional awareness and relationships.
Positive Psychology and Mindfulness – to enhance resilience and overall well-being.
My goal is to empower you with practical tools to manage life’s challenges more effectively — and to help you reconnect with life on your own terms.
Areas of Focus
I work with adults across a wide range of mental health and emotional well-being concerns, including…
Anxiety, stress, and burnout.
Depression and mood challenges.
Betrayal trauma and relationship difficulties.
Trauma and post-traumatic stress (PTSD).
Workplace stress and career transitions.
Childhood trauma and complex PTSD (CPTSD).
Grief, loss, and life adjustments.
Understanding Childhood Trauma & Complex PTSD
Early-life trauma can leave deep emotional and psychological imprints. While some individuals heal with support, others develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or complex PTSD (CPTSD), often after prolonged or repeated adversity such as neglect, emotional abuse, or abandonment.
Common signs of complex trauma may include
Flashbacks, nightmares, and intrusive memories
Persistent anxiety, hyper-vigilance, or emotional numbness
Difficulty regulating emotions
Chronic pain or somatic distress
Trouble trusting others or maintaining relationships
Higher risk of self-harm, substance use, or suicidal thoughts
Trauma-informed Therapy
Recovery from complex trauma requires trauma-informed therapy focused on rebuilding emotional safety, restoring self-trust, and fostering resilience. With compassionate, evidence-based care, it is possible to heal and reconnect with yourself and your life in meaningful ways.
If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I am here to support you. You are not alone.
Professional Experience
Over the past 3 decades, I’ve worked across private practice, clinical settings, and corporate environments both in Australia and internationally. Alongside individual therapy, I also facilitate workshops and training across a variety of psychological and well-being topics, supporting workplaces and professionals to build mental fitness and resilience.
Accessing Sessions
Therapy sessions are available for adults via in-person consultations and secure telehealth appointments.
Medicare rebates may be available with a GP referral under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) through the Better Access initiative, and some private health insurers also offer rebates.
